The Arab Technology Business Plan Competition is a regional Technology investment competition organized by Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) in cooperation with Intel Corporation.
The competition provides the Arabian Entrepreneurs with tools to turn their Technological innovation into business opportunities.
Winners will have the opportunity to show their business plans in front of venture capitals, angel fund and investors in the ASTF Investment in Technology Forum.
Winners will represent the Arab World in the United States of America in the world wide finals of the Intel UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The Arab Technology Business Plan Competition Falls in line with ASTF efforts to bridge the gap between those who generate technology, and those who generate businesses and investments. The ultimate aim of this merger is to create strong, innovative, technology-based businesses able to compete worldwide. Such linkages will consequently support further technology research and development, thus creating a much –needed momentum able to drive Arab economies into the new millennium.

Competition details
-The Arabian Entrepreneurs can benefit from the competition by developing their own business plans for their technological Innovations in order to take their innovations to the market through starting up a technology based companies.
-Successful Technology based companies are some kind different from ordinary companies which need special skills in how to manage the technology and how to link the technology strategy to the business strategy of the company.
-The competition will help gaining some of the needed skills through Training, Mentoring, judging and seeking partnerships with Venture Capitals, Angel Funds and Investors.
-The competition is also an opportunity for venture capitals, angel fund and investors seeking potential entrepreneurs and investment opportunities in the Arab region within the technology and science fields.
General rules
Participants should apply in teams including 2 to 5 persons per team, whom at least two thirds are of Arab nationality and Residing in the Arab World.
Teams must have at least one university member: Staffs, Researchers, Postgraduates and Undergraduates students from Technology, Science and Business faculties and research centers.
The team should be who are seeking seed fund to startup a company (Including Startup Company in the Idea or the Conceptual stage) based on a proven innovation or product and ready to start commercial production and marketing.
Business plans should be for Companies to be established in the Arab world and most of future Research & Development activities should be done in the Arab countries. (Not sales or raise funds activities only)
Innovations, Researches results, Prototypes and Projects within the business plans should already passed the R&D stage, financially feasible with attractive returns to investors, have potential market regionally and/or worldwide and proposals should be clear for investors.
The proposed business plan should not be in violation of any intellectual property rights.
Teams or team members that who win a passed business plan competition and have received any form of venture capital, Angel funds or investors financing for their business plan should be mentioned clearly in their Executive Summary.

هي مسابقة إقليمية تهتم بالاستثمار في مجال
التكنولوجيا و يقوم بتنظيمها المؤسسة العربية للعلوم و التكنولوجيا
بالتعاون مع شركة انتل العالمية.
المسابقة تساعد رواد الأعمال العرب على تحويل
أفكارهم إلى شركات ناجحة. و تعطى المسابقة فرص للفائزين لعرض أفكارهم
على مستثمرين و أصحاب رؤوس الأموال ألمخاطره والراغبين في تمويل شركات
تكنولوجيا ناشئة وواعدة من خلال منتدى الاستثمار العربي و الذي تقوم
المؤسسة بتنظيمها سنويا في احد الدول العربية.
أما الفائزين في فئة الجامعة (انظر تفاصيل
المسابقة) سيتاح لهم الفرصة لتمثيل الوطن العربي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية

ريادة الأعمال فى مجال التكنولوحيا انتل يو سى بركلى.
تسعى المؤسسة العربية للعلوم
والتكنولوجيا، من خلال هذه المسابقة الإقليمية، إلى زيادة الاستثمارات
العربية في مجال التقنية، وتشجيع مبادرات إنشاء المشروعات الخاصة في
العالم العربي وتساعد على زيادة الوعي بفرص الاستثمار المتاحة في شركات التقنية
الجديدة، كما تسهم في تكريم الأفكار والخطط والشركات التقنية الناشئة التي
تمتاز بالابتكار والتفرد، إضافة إلى زيادة الاستثمار في شركات التقنية
العربية الناشئة من خلال تعريف المستثمرين العرب بمجموعة منتقاة ومتنوعة من
هذه الشركات التي تستحق الاستثمار فيها.
القواعد العامة
* على المتقدمين ان يتقدموا للمسابقة فى شكل فرق عمل من فردين الى خمس افراد على ان يكون ثلثهم على الأقل يحمل جنسية عربية و مقيم فى أحد الدول العربية.
* فرق العمل المتقدمة يجب ان تضم شخصا واحدا على الأقل من أعضاء الجامعة (دكاترة، مدرسين، باحثين، طلاب دراسات عليا، طلاب ما قبل التخرج من كليات التكنولوجيا أو العلوم أو الهندسة أو ادارة الأعمال).
* يجب أن يكون الفريق المتقدم يبحث عن تمويل لأنشاء شركة ناشئة في مجال التكنولوجيا (متضمنا الشركات الناشئة في مرحلة التأسيس) مبنية على منتج تكنولوجي جاهز للتسويق والبيع.
* يفضل أن يضم فريق العمل احد ذوات الخبرة فى مجال التكنولوحيا و ادارة الأعمال.
* خطط الأعمال يجب ان تكون لفكرة انشاء شركات داخل الوطن العربى على ان يتم عمل البحث و التطوير المستقبلي داخل الوطن العربى (ولا يكون فرع للمبيعات او جذب للمستثمرين فقط).
* على جميع الأفكار ونتائج الأبحاث و النماذج الاولية فى خطط الأعمال المقدمة ان تكون انتهت من مرحلة البحث و التطوير و تكون مجدية استثماريا و لها فرص تسويقية فى الوطن العربى أو خارجه و ان تكون كل هذه التفاصيل موضحة فى خطة العمل.
* خطط الأعمال و الأفكار المقدمة يجب ان لا تخالف او تنتهك اى حق من حقوق الملكية الفكرية.
* على الفرق التى فازت فى مسابقات سابقة لخطط الأعمال او تم الحصول على تمويل من اى جهة, يجب ان تذكر ذلك و بوضوح فى ملفات التقديم.
